SBN 2019 program highlights

Pre-meeting workshop

A half-day workshop during the afternoon of June 19, 2019, will focus on student training and mentoring. We encourage all trainees to attend this free workshop.

Training and mentoring opportunities

Trainees at all levels will have the opportunity to meet with faculty mentors during the meeting as part of an effort to link students and postdocs with potential supervisors, colleagues, and collaborators with shared or complementary research interests. Some of the events planned for the 2019 meeting include Networking Breakfast Meetings for junior faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students as well as a lunch workshop with both NSF and NIH program officers to discuss funding-related issues.

Lectures and symposia

The meeting will consist of six scientific symposia across all levels of behavioral neuroendocrinology. One of these symposia, the Young Investigators Symposium, will include presentations from outstanding young investigators. The purpose of this symposium is to highlight the contributions of young researchers contributing in important ways to the field.

Poster sessions

The three poster sessions held throughout the meeting allow for a more informal exchange of information and enable networking between established scientists and trainees. These sessions are an excellent forum for postdoctoral fellows as well as graduate and undergraduate students to present their ongoing work in a more intimate setting and to engage in one-on-one interactions with experts in their field.
